Try out new Trezor Wallet Suite features a week before official release when you sign up for the Early Access Program in Application Settings! Since August, we have begun releasing new updates in stages to smaller groups of users, so you may not receive the update prompt until several days after this announcement.

How to Setup a Trezor.io Account

  1. Visit the Official Site: Go to Trezor.io/start in your web browser. This is the official site for setting up your Trezor hardware wallet.
  2. Download Trezor Suite: Follow the prompts to download the Trezor Suite application for your desktop. This software is essential for managing your device and cryptocurrencies.
  3. Connect Your Trezor: Plug your Trezor device into your computer using the USB cable provided. If it's your first time connecting, you may need to install firmware.
  4. Initialize Your Device: Follow the on-screen instructions in Trezor Suite to initialize your device. This includes setting up a PIN and writing down the recovery seed. Keep this seed in a safe place; it's your backup if the device is lost or damaged.
  5. Name Your Device: As part of the setup process, you'll have the option to name your device. This can be helpful if you plan to use multiple hardware wallets.
  6. Test Your Backup: It's highly recommended to perform a dry-run recovery check to ensure your recovery seed is correctly backed up.
  7. Finalize Setup: Once you've confirmed your backup, your Trezor is ready to use. You can now send, receive, and manage your cryptocurrencies securely.

Coin control

Coin control is an advanced feature that allows you to specify which UTXOs you want to spend in a transaction. Used properly, it can improve privacy, though we only recommend that you use it once you are familiar with the principles.
